Breakout 2 | Salon 1 – Give the People What They Want: A Fireside Chat with Steve Mangano, Creator of CurEat, a Hot New Curated Dining App Full of Recommendations by World-Class Chefs and other Dynamic Influencers
CurEat Founder Steve Mangano will walk attendees through the full spectrum of app development, from idea to product development to the live launch in real time. The idea for CurEat is that users will be inspired by CurEaters—without the photos and opinionated reviews common to other platforms—to patronize casual or mom-and-pop operations as well as upscale hotspots, and in turn influence others with their own endorsements. Mangano likens CurEat's lists to social media shout-outs from friends looking for great food in an unfamiliar location or those who crave a certain type of cuisine or atmosphere. "I was in New York and saw that Rochelle Johnson from Ponysaurus and Dashi listed a ramen place [on CurEat]. I used the map feature and found it was just six blocks from where I was," he says. "I went there and it was amazing."

Breakout 4 | Grand 2 – Consumer Data Deep Dive: The Legal and Regulatory Requirements for the Collection, Processing, Sale, Transfer and Use of Consumer Data in the US and How it Impacts Your Business

This presentation will discuss the applicable legal and regulatory requirements for the collection, processing, sale, transfer and use of consumer data in the US. The acquisition and use of consumer data represents a valuable and critical asset of the business at all stages of a company's life cycle. The ability to leverage consumer data for business purposes requires careful thought, foresight and robust planning in order to maximize the value of such data assets. Whether a company is in its early stage of formation, seeking investors or preparing for an exit, the freedom and flexibility to exercise full control of the company's data assets creates value which will continually appreciate over the life of the company.

Listen as David F. Katz, Partner at Nelson Mullins Scarborough, LLP, Practice and Data Management Practice Leader and Bess Hinson, Privacy and Data Management Associate in the Columbia South Carolina Office present on this timely and important topic.

Breakout 6 | Alphavest Stage (Grand 3) – The Science of Decision Making – AI, Biometrics and Neuroscience - What it all means to Brands and Buyers- Sponsored by Oracle
Lately everyone is talking about AI, but most aren't talking about it accurately. Businesses are scrambling to implement AI and Neuroscience into their decision making process and data analysis, but most aren't doing it in a manner that will produce significant result. We plan to help brands clearly define AI, Neuroscience and biometrics and how they fit into their business goals and provide improvements. People are still figuring out what each of these scientific methods are. For Neuroscience they are trying to implement it by reading people's biometrics and unconscious responses, yet they do not understand the cognitive nature and the effect of the five factor model, behavioral economics or even Darwin’s theory and how knowledge in these areas can effect a customer’s decision making progress up to 10 seconds before they even know it. As for AI, it’s the wild west – terms are being thrown around incorrectly, there isn’t a true understanding of machine learning, vs cognitive, or deep learning, or even the statistical logic used may be counter intuitive to their objectives. I’ll help the audience understand each of these pieces, bring together the future of ‘mindset advertising” and how the World of Everything (WoE) will guide strategy and implementation moving forward.

Breakout 6 | Salon 1 – Touch of Grey: Operating Innovative Startups in Regulatory Grey Zones
Innovation and disruption are moving through the economy in new ways - particularly in services that can be easily socialized, such as the hotel business, the taxi industry, and the education market. As socially driven disruption progresses, companies like Aribnb, Uber and Coursera run into more and more regulatory hurdles. New entrants to many markets face ill fitting (and ill defined) regulatory structures. Investor Chris Dixon described many of the companies operating in this space as “regulatory hacks.” As Dixon described: “Sometimes the businesses that change regulations are startups. Startups don’t have the resources to change regulations through lobbying. Instead, they need to start with regulatory hacks: “back door” experiments that demonstrate the benefits of their ideas. With luck, regulators are forced to follow.” This session will explore operating as a startup in such spaces. How do you assess when to move forward in such gray areas? What do you consider? What resources do you look to?

Breakout 6 | Salon 2 – Startup Dreams Can Come True: How Terminus Hustled to Grow 5X
The sign of a SaaS startup's potential is when the company hits $1M in ARR. A best-in-class SaaS company gets to $1M in Year 1, grows from $1M to $3M in ARR in Year 2, and then grows from $3M to $9M in Year 3. Terminus just celebrated its 3rd birthday, and the company is on track to exceed those metrics.

As Terminus is the original name for the city of Atlanta, the startup has quickly become a recognized brand for the technology community in ATL. Terminus has grown to 100 employees, graduated from the Atlanta Tech Village, and won awards such as #1 Best Place to Work, Startup of the Year, plus more than a dozen other accolades.
In this session from Co-Founder & CMO Sangram Vajre will share the secrets to success at Terminus including building a new category for B2B account-based marketing, strategically raising funding, and the “magic triangle” of product-market fit. Session attendees will be eligible to win a copy of Sangram’s book “Account-Based Marketing for Dummies” plus gain new insights on how marketing can help fast-track a startup’s success.
