Gene Cook is an innovative general business manager and Product leader with extensive experience in consumer-facing marketplaces. Over a deep career at eBay, he led the new business group for eBay North America, overseeing $6B in annual sales while rapidly scaling successful initiatives across Collectibles, Art, Business & Industrial, Precious Metals and Sporting Goods. Previously at eBay, he led Product and Operating teams across Buyer Experience, Search and Stores.

Gene is deeply passionate about cars and the family connections that often build around them. A few years ago, he found and repurchased the actual 1969 Corvette on eBay that his dad owned when he was growing up. Gene has recently translated this love of cars and car people into founding MotorCrew, a new company dedicated to helping build strong connections between enthusiasts and talented pros in the automotive space.

Gene received his MBA from Stanford and his bachelor’s from Vanderbilt. He is originally from Kentucky, married a woman from South Carolina and still considers the southeast “home.”
